Near Ebern

First, follow the castle trail or "Hasen" to the Mariengrotto. Very beautiful path. The Mariengrotto lies wonderfully in the forest, where you can take a first break. From here, follow the "Wild Boar" path downhill to Jesserndorf. In Jesserndorf, first take the street towards Welkendorf. After a little more than 500 meters, there is a turnoff to the "Elster" trail marker. Follow this until you reach the Stachel, where you come to the Friedrich-Rückert path. Follow this to the shooting range (location of the shooting facility). From here, follow the "Fox" path to Unterpreppach. In Unterpreppach, then take the "Milan" path to the Raueneck ruins. The path from Vorbach is also marked with the "red castle symbol." It is easier to find. On the ascent, you have to be careful because many paths have either disappeared due to clearing or newly appeared.

To enter the ruins, you have to get to the west side of the ruins, simply follow the castle symbol.

The descent from the ruins to the car park is a bit slippery but manageable. Just follow the "green castle symbol" here. After about 30 minutes, you will reach the starting point again.
