Only for the hardened. Almost a survival route in sections. When the path ends in the forest, the adventure begins...

Planned as a conditioning-enhancing circular route, it almost became a climbing session. But it was still a hike. With a high experience factor.
Author’s recommendation
Absolutely take a GPS navigation device or a GPS-enabled phone.

Attention: The hike partially leads off-trail through the forest! Navigation is important! GPS is essential!Make sure the GPS battery still has at least 20-30% in the last forest section (I had to save the battery (5%), so no photos in the last section).
Tips and suggestions
A thrill route for off-trail freaks.Roadbook
Starting from the center of Hasendorf (parking available), head towards Krottendorf, then turn right into the forest. Walk about 1.5 km along the forest path to the "wild boar meadow" in the middle of the forest. Here is the first "experience": After the meadow, go left straight into the forest and cross-country up to the next path. Take this path left until the next turn right. GPS data is absolutely necessary here. There are several paths. Continue straight on this path until the forest edge. Walk along the forest, cross the meadow (field path visible) to the left, then right up to Steingrabne. Before the town center, turn left and take the winding gravel road up to the forest. Here the magnificent panorama awaits to be photographed or at least remembered. Then straight into the forest until a right bend. GPS is essential, only forest tracks. Follow the faint path... until it is no longer visible. We actually wanted to go to Rosenberg, so here we went on by feel, cross-country through the forest. First downhill along the ditches to the next path. Up this path. To a faintly visible "driveway" – best recognized as newly planted forest with protective stands for the seedlings. Pass this on the side uphill – here another path becomes visible again. Continue uphill to the "summit". Once at the top – marked by a red and white striped pole at the summit – first enjoy the view and take a break. Then right (from the viewpoint) continue cross-country through the forest to the next path. And – voila – now it goes straight downhill. And anyone who did everything right ends up at the lower end of Rosenberg. The road straight towards Güssing, keep right at the federal road. Turn left after Hasendorf, through Krottendorf. Back to the starting point. Done ;)
