River landscapes, rock formations, nature reserves, castles, numerous panoramic viewpoints and parks characterize this diverse route around the spas of Bad Kreuznach and Bad Münster am Stein-Ebernburg. From the Bad Kreuznach Salinental – Europe’s largest open-air inhalatorium with massive graduation towers – you traverse ice age block scree slopes, pass through oak and beech forests, take a ferry across to the Bad Münster spa park, and then hike along the Nahe to the Rotenfels massif. This is the highest continuous rock face in Germany north of the Alps, at nearly 327 m high and over 1 km long. The route passes through three nature reserves. One of the highlights is the Rheingrafenstein castle ruins on a porphyry rock high above the Nahe valley near Bad Münster.
