A rather easy hiking route through short forest sections and past fields from Kirkel-Limbach to the Abstäberhof, continuing to the industrial park in Kirkel and back to Limbach. Due to the 9 km length, the hike is quite long. The inclines are minimal.
The Mutterbachtal walking path is a circular trail that leads to the Silbersandquelle, the Abstäberhof and the Gänseweiher. The 9 km long hiking route includes several places to eat, which makes this route special. Fields and forest sections alternate throughout the hike. The railway line must also be crossed at two points. At several points, hikers can rest on a bench.

USAGE NOTE:
Dear hikers, the hiking trails also lead along natural paths through untouched nature reserves and forests. Preserving and protecting nature is an important concern for us.
We would also like to point out the risks and therefore ask you to stay on the designated paths and not to enter existing rock formations for safety reasons. Furthermore, we point out the presence of natural forest hazards. Due to weather, some places on the path may be softened and slippery and should therefore be traversed with particular caution. Solid footwear is therefore recommended on all routes, and surefootedness is essential.
The use of hiking trails and premium hiking trails is at your own risk.
MARKING AND SIGNAGE:
All quality trails are circular paths that can be walked in both directions. The signage is therefore in both directions. Try walking the round the other way and you will discover completely new perspectives and views.

Roadbook
The start of the circular hiking route is at the hiking car park near the Landhaus am kleinen Sägeweiher. From there, the route goes directly into the forest and shortly afterwards over the bridge of the A8 motorway. Shortly afterwards, the path runs along the edge of the forest. The path runs parallel to the A6 and the eponymous Mutterbach until it reaches the Silbersandquelle. There, the path turns left twice and runs along the edge of the forest until reaching the Abstäberhof. Here, the railway tracks and the main road are crossed, and the path leads into the Kirkeler Forest until it reaches the industrial park. Here the main road is crossed again, shortly after which the Gänseweiher is reached. Continuing straight on, the path passes the dog park until the Solar outdoor pool Limbach. Arriving at the “main street,” the path turns left and shortly afterwards left again to the car park.
