The Hohlstein hut is open from April to the end of June, as well as in September and October on Sundays and public holidays from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.; only on Mondays during Easter and Pentecost. Closed on Corpus Christi and Good Friday (if occurring in April).
Basically the rule is: … if the flag is hanging, drinks are served!

Roadbook
From the Münchweiler community center, continue to the Gonbacher Straße level crossing. Cross the railway and then turn right into the first street (Kapellenstraße). At house number 22, turn half-right onto a field and meadow path, which runs along the railway to the Agricultural Research Station "Hofgut Neumühle." Before the main building, turn left and follow the paved path slightly uphill into the forest until open fields on the Kirschgarten district are reached. At the first intersecting field path, turn left until the marked path "white-blue bar" is reached, then continue straight ahead to the starting point at the Münchweiler train stop.
Passed on the Münchweiler home mountain, the Hohlstein, is the Hohlstein hut, operated voluntarily at certain times by the local group Münchweiler a.d. Alsenz of the Palatinate Forest Club, offering a magnificent view over Münchweiler and the Kaiserstraße valley.
