Author’s recommendation
The Hohlstein hut is open from April to the end of June, as well as in September and October on Sundays and public holidays from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.; at Easter and Pentecost only on Mondays. Corpus Christi and Good Friday (if in April) are closed.

At the community center Münchweiler a.d. Alsenz, cross the pedestrian bridge over the railway tracks and turn left into Seitersstraße. On a slight hill, you reach the resting bench "Hinterberg" at the "Three-Land-Corner" (Münchweiler/Gonbach/Winnweiler) with a view of the Kaiserstraße basin and the Donnersberg. Follow the paved farm road to the right to the main street in Gonbach, where you turn right. Continue to follow the second street (Höhenstraße) to the left past the cemetery and the edge of town towards the signposted "Hohlstein hut". At the forest edge, follow the hiking trail with "white-blue" marking to the right back to the starting point at the community center.
You pass on the Münchweiler local mountain, the Hohlstein, the Hohlstein hut, which is run voluntarily by the local group Münchweiler a.d. Alsenz of the Pfälzerwald-Verein at certain times and offers a wonderful view over Münchweiler and the Kaiserstraße basin.
