The Mosisbruch path leads into one of the last raised bogs in the Palatinate Forest.
The 9 km long Mosisbruch path leads into one of the last raised bogs in the Palatinate Forest and to hidden locations where no known hiking trails pass. With its medium level of difficulty, it is also suitable as a discovery journey for families with children.
#WatchOut! For consideration and nature conservation
Hiking, walking, strolling, cycling, mountain biking, climbing, trekking, picnicking, forest bathing, relaxing, and stopping for refreshment. Vacation and leisure in the fresh air should be fun and above all relaxing. This works best when we treat ourselves, other people, and nature with care and consideration. SO: WATCH OUT AND THINK! Be considerate of everyone on the way and especially of nature so that we can still enjoy it far into the future.
At www.pfalz.de/uffbasse we have listed some behavior tips for considerate and careful coexistence.

Safety information
For safety reasons, we recommend always carrying an appropriate hiking map so you can quickly find a safe area in case of a thunderstorm or emergency.
Especially in autumn, be aware that fallen leaves can cover unevenness, roots, stones, or holes in the path. After storms, trees can still fall or branches break off. Under adverse weather conditions, natural paths may have muddy and slippery sections. You must expect such path impairments when hiking. Not all rocks or cliffs are secured with ropes or railings. Surefootedness is sometimes required. If you think certain path sections are not passable, you should avoid them.

Roadbook
The path leads out of the village with a slight ascent and transitions into a lightly gravelled road. It passes 3 holiday homes and continues straight ahead after about 300 meters with the sign "In den Bergäckern." From here, the "black 2 on a white circle" marking appears alongside the path to the Mosistal. It goes gently downhill for about 800 meters, passing a hunting stand, then sharply to the right always following the main path and continuing slightly downhill. We reach a junction called "Weidenplatz" after about 600 meters. From there, it continues straight ahead and then left after about 200 meters onto an ascending path. We pass the "Felsenbrunnen" on the right and can refill our drinking water supplies here! After about 600 meters of moderate ascent, we reach the "Hammerruhe" where we can rest on the sandstone bench that gives it its name. Then it goes sharply right, following the slightly ascending service road for about 600 meters to a small junction. We cross this and walk straight ahead about 200 meters to the next small junction. We also cross this straight ahead and after about 500 meters of ascent reach the large junction "7 Wege."
WARNING!
We now take the path between a large rock on the left and a tree on the right with the marking sign "Rescue point 158." It goes downhill and we arrive at the edge of the Mosisbruch after about 400 meters. We follow the main path downhill to the right and are at the ruin "Alt Hofstätten" after about 300 meters. At the fork, it goes right and after about 100 meters left to a small reservoir. There is a very beautiful picnic area here – especially in spring and summer, magnificent water lilies can be admired on the lake!
