The Moosalb hiking trail takes you on a varied and nature-close discovery tour through one of the most beautiful landscapes in the Alb Valley. This approximately 17 km long hike combines scenic heights with the idyllic Moosalb Valley and lets you experience the diversity of the Black Forest – from the wide view over the hills to the quiet murmur of the Moosalb, which accompanies you on the way back.

Already in Mittelberg, wonderful panoramas open up towards Karlsruhe and the Rhine Plain before you descend on shaded forest paths into the romantic Moosalb Valley. Passing the venerable pilgrimage church in Moosbronn, you now always go downhill near the brook. Along the way, we hike along the historic water meadows, which are special witnesses of past history in the Moosalb Valley. It is the small treasures here that make this landscape in the middle of the Alb Valley so special.

    Author’s recommendation

On hot days, enjoy a little cool-off in the shallow water of the Moosalb. Just before Fischweier, there is a small spot to dip your feet in the water.
