Montsec Ridge

The Montsec Ridge is one of the most spectacular mountain features in Catalunya. A wall of limestone stretching over 30km east to west and rising almost 1000m sheer from the valley floor. Naturally, the views from the top are fantastic in winter and summer. The good news is that you can drive to the top and then walk the ridge!! Since you are going for the views, make sure it is a clear day.

The basic ridge walk is around 5km from the car park and back. An optional extension involves a scramble down to a track below the ridge on the south and then back to the car. This adds about 7km. There is little shade and no cafes, so take hats and water.
