Monte Zugna
Monte Zugna was a fiercely contested mountain in the First World War. Due to its central location, it had great strategic importance. From its summit, the Italian army finally managed to push back the Austro-Hungarian troops. This is still evidenced today by numerous historical sites such as trenches and firing trenches on the Sentiero della Pace (Peace Path). Our route goes from Rifugio Malga Zugna along part of the Land Art trail and the Sentiero della Pace to the summit of Monte Zugna at 1864 m. There we enjoy the beautiful view over the surrounding peaks, for example the Piccole Dolomiti. The way back leads down a forest path that passes through the second part of the Land Art trail to the refuge.
