Roadbook
Malga Zanga - Le Prese. Immediately behind the Malga, a signpost shows the way to 'Le Prese'. It leads through the mountain forest, past the fountain at the ruin 'Castello del Castil', up to the meadows of 'Le Prese'. Here, on the open meadows, the view broadens to Lake Garda and the surrounding mountains.
Le Prese - Monte Stivo. From 'Le Prese' a wide, marked path leads to the Malga Stivo and further to the summit. Alternatively, you can ascend directly to the summit on the unmarked but well-trodden ridge path on the northeast ridge of Monte Stivo, with its excellent panoramic view. A few meters below the summit lies the small, cozy Rifugio Stivo.
Monte Stivo - La Bassa Madonnina. From the summit past the Rifugio, the well-constructed path #617 leads downhill in a right curve to the pass 'La Bassa Madonnina'. The pass and the immediately following path section allow beautiful deep views into the Etschtal valley and towards the Brenner.
La Bassa Madonnina - Passo Bordala. In small hairpin bends and turns, path #623 initially leads through the steep north flank towards 'Acqua Fontanelle' and 'Passo Bordala', before the trail dives into the forest. Later the terrain flattens and the route follows farm roads to Passo Bordala, where the path meets the pass road. Immediately at the trail junction is the Albergo Ristorante 'Passo Bordala' (refreshment possibility, room rental only during the main season).
Passo Bordala - Ronzo-Chienis. From the Ristorante 'Passo Bordala' approx. 400 meters on the road towards the southwest into Val di Gresta. Soon turn right onto the farm road to Ronzo-Chienis; shortly before Ronzo-Chienis this meets the road again. At the beginning of the village, take the lightly trafficked Via San Rocco into the upper part of the village. The Hotel 'Martinelli' is open year-round for meals and overnight stays; directly below the hotel is also the bus stop.
