Monte Salmone

This sporty summit route takes us from the picturesque village of Auressio up to the 1560 m high Monte Salmone, from where we can enjoy a breathtaking mountain panorama. Along the way we encounter not only numerous animals, such as various bird species and sheep, but also pass interesting buildings, including a beautiful church that can be visited.  The trail, despite good visibility, is mostly natural, which gives the route a pleasant, nature-connected character. At some points there are small wooden bridges crossing short mountain streams. There may still be snow on the proud mountain’s summit depending on the season. Up here we enjoy a well-deserved break with a view over the surrounding mountains and Lake Maggiore before tackling the steep descent back down to the village.
