Leaving the car in the parking lot at Casellette, you take the marked trail behind a fountain.
This route proposes a loop with an ascent following to the right, shortly after the beginning of the mule track, trail 572c. The deviation is just before a Way of the Cross pillar, but it is not marked, so attention to the GPX track is necessary to avoid mistakes.
From here, the trail is always well marked with white-red markings. The ascent is fairly steady and not particularly steep until the junction with trail 572a, where it merges. From here the slope increases, but the trail remains quite manageable.
Towards Truc dell'Eremita, the trail becomes gentler and also offers a flat stretch just before reaching the summit.
The descent is done via trail 572, the "classic" one.
The first part is quite steep and on small rocks that may occasionally require the use of hands, but it is never exposed or dangerous. This terrain continues for about 200m of elevation loss, then the rocks decrease and the trail becomes easier, although the slope remains steeper compared to the ascent path.
Upon reaching the sanctuary of Sant'Abaco, you take again the paved mule track that leads back to the parking lot.
