The Monte Moro Pass is one of the oldest crossings in the Alps; the trade route was used at least since the 13th century. On the Italian side, a cable car runs almost up to the pass height and transports skiers in winter to the small but fine ski area and hikers in summer. From the northern side, a challenging path leads along the Mattmark reservoir and then steeply over a rock barrier up. The statue on the pass is already visible from the start of the route. The view of the 2000 m high wall face of the Monte Rosa massif is unique in the Alps.
