He is the king of the Corsican mountains. In clear weather, the view from the Cinto summit extends to the east and west coasts, all mountains – at least in northern Corsica – lie at the feet of the summit climber. "Monte Schindo," as it is also affectionately called in mountaineering circles. This applies both to the ascent from Haut-Asco and the climb from the south, which, apart from the scree climb in the first third, is quite enjoyable. The easy scrambles are supported by grippy, solid rock. In any case, the peak aspirant should start the ascent early in the morning – this way they avoid the greatest heat and can expect an unobstructed view.
From the L’Arimona campsite at the end of the asphalt road in Lozzi (parking lot), we walk another 5 minutes along the gravel track until a gate on the left marks a path to Refuge de l’Ercu. The yellow-marked hiking trail runs roughly parallel to the track and touches it again in the following hairpin turn. Here it is best to switch to the track (the hiking trail is blocked later by barbed wire fences). 20 minutes later, the marked hiking trail branches off to the right again. It climbs through a broom slope beautifully blooming in early summer and treats us to views of the Calacuccia reservoir and the Cinto. After 5 minutes, it crosses the track, goes along the track for a few minutes, then turns left along a fence. It crosses the track again and passes the foundations of the Capella a sa Lisei after about 10 minutes. A little less than a quarter of an hour later, the hiking trail joins the track again, which we now follow to its end (20 minutes). From the parking lot, a clear path
