The secluded Montclar is formed from the same conglomerate rock as the more famous Montserrat. It appears more modest but hardly less beautiful. From its barren rocky ridge, the impressive Ermita de Sant Miquel de Montclar looks far to the north. Our circular hike from the beautiful Biure first leads us downstream to the spot where the river (usually) can be crossed well, then through fields and forests up to the height and through the rocky flank to the mountain church and summit. Then we hike back down to Biure. On the whole way, we don’t pass a single house.
