Mirnock, 2110 m
Two geomantic lines run through Carinthia and intersect at the summit of the Mirnock: the so-called monastery line between Großglockner and Hochobir and the so-called cult line between Monte Santo di Lussari (Friuli) and Rosenau Castle (Zwettl). The Celts are said to have been aware of the mountain's powers, and it is suspected that there is a Celtic cult site on the Mirnock. The agricultural settlement of the Mirnock dates back to around 1600. The farmers were self-sufficient; many had their own mill, some even had their own sawmill, and even today the Mirnock farmers have their own distilling rights. There are no villages, but rather individual, beautiful farms spread over the southwest slope of the Mirnock. Since 1999, the farms have joined together as the "Mirnock Farmers," a joint tourism concept. At around 1050 m lies the former Klammer inn, the home of one of Austria's most successful skiers. Could it be that Franz Klammer owes his winning streak to the special energies of the Mirnock?

Now we can enjoy the wonderful panoramic view of the lake again! On the way, the path from the Bergfried inn, 1740 m, joins from the left. Over open grassy slopes, where thousands of gentian flowers open their blue cups before the start of the alpine season, we hike under the Bodeneck and along the broad, comfortable western ridge very scenically to the summit of the Mirnock. On the descent, just a few meters below the summit, we leave our ascent trail to the left and follow trail tracks and occasional markings down a faintly developed little valley in a southwest direction. The alpine meadows turn into a larch forest,
