Over gentle hills, the Staverner Mill Path leads through the rural idyll of the Hümmling
Over gentle hills, the Staverner Mill Path leads through the rural idyll of the Hümmling. Lined by hedges, small woods and fields, it connects some impressive testimonies of the past: dolmens, which enchant the oak groves with their mighty boulders, and Bronze Age burial mounds, which hide beneath heath bushes, guide you into the distant history of the Hümmling. The romantic flair of the old Bruneforth watermill and the adjacent small church made from continually growing wicker also offer a very special resting opportunity on this route. Those who wish can extend this route via Groß Berßen to the 25 km long “Great Prehistoric Path”.
