Meteora Trail M12 - Kalampaka Byzantine Church – Meteora Digital Projection Center Trail
This short route on the edge of Kalampaka takes hikers from one edge of the settlement to the other while giving acces to some daring ascents and viewpoints.
This is a short route that connects the 2 locations mentioned in the title, which are located on the northern side of the settlement of Kalambaka, just below Meteora. The route starting from the beautiful byzantine church of Koimisi tis Theotokou, in an open place, moves in a westerly direction to the edge of the settlement. At a short distance and shortly after the church of Agios Antonios and Agios Nikolaos, the route enters a path, which, moving through the grassy vegetation of the area, approaches the chapel of Agios Vasileios. Shortly before a not well preserved access appears which leads through an unkempt path to the white Cross that stands higher above the settlement at the point called Mikri Agia. After the chapel the route sticks to the edge of Kalambaka again, from where it approaches its destination which is the Meteora Digital Projection Center. Shortly before its end, the route passes a characteristic stone gully through which a rudimentary path takes daring hikers up to the hermitage of Agios Nikolaos Badovas.

Public transport
One can find cars or e-bikes to rent in order to move around Meteora with a quick search on the internet. Taxis are also available and local buses perform daily trips to the Monasteries and back. Since it would not be nice to advertise any business here, and most hotels/places to rent have a list of useful telephone numbers this section had better be left at that. In any case the trails of this region can easily be combined to create shorter or longer circular routes starting from one of the two settlements of this area (Kalabaka & Kastraki).
Directions
In order to get to Kalabaka or Kastraki by bus one will first have to ge to Trikala.
