Meteora Trail M07 - Holy Trinity – Kalampaka Highschool Trail
This scenic trail takes hikers from the heights of the Monasteries of Agia Triada and Agios Stefanos down to the town of kalambaka through a beautiful cobblestone trail shaded by big oak trees which then leads to dirt and asphalt roads.
Coming from in between a fork on the asphalt road, the route follows a marking to the left of the road that leads to the Monastery of Agios Stefanos. The route here takes to a path between beautiful vegetation of grass and oaks. The initial uphill slope gradually smooths out and the route approaches the Monastery of Agios Stefanos from its rear entrance, which the hiker will not reach, as a turn to the left leads him through a beautiful old path down to Kalambaka. The path, shaded by the oaks and paved in sections at lower altitudes, moves through the plains that surround the cliffs of Meteora in this SE corner. The route moves entirely in the track of the MTR organization, and gradually approaches the settlement of Kalambaka with impressive images from this perspective of Meteora. The route enters Kalabaka through dirt and asphalt roads finishing at the High School of Kalambaka, next to the military cemetery.

One can find cars or e-bikes to rent in order to move around Meteora with a quick search on the internet. Taxis are also available and local buses perform daily trips to the Monasteries and back. Since it would not be nice to advertise any business here, and most hotels/places to rent have a list of useful telephone numbers this section had better be left at that. In any case the trails of this region can easily be combined to create shorter or longer circular routes starting from one of the two settlements of this area (Kalabaka & Kastraki).
