Mehlingen - Small round through the Mehlinger Heide

We start the route at the parking lot "An der Heide" in the industrial area of Mehlingen at the company Becker (waste disposal company).
We follow the paved road westward, cross the motorway (A63), pass the Jewish cemetery to an open space with a bench and an information board about the Mehlinger Heide.
We turn left, go through the barrier into the Mehlinger Heide nature reserve, which in August welcomes us with a beautiful bloom (heather bushes).
We follow the "Owl" marking to the right and follow this marking on sandy paths through the entire Mehlinger Heide until we reach the exit (barrier) again.
From here the path leads back, past the Jewish cemetery, across the motorway (A63) back to the parking lot.
On the way, you will pass many information boards and a pavilion that vividly describe the Mehlinger Heide.
Author’s recommendation
About 300 m eastwards (always follow the street "An der Heide"!) there is the possibility to stop at the "Flammkuchen-Hütte" in the Mehlingen industrial area (observe opening hours!).
