Meckenbach Celtic Path
Along the route lies the burial mound field, which gave the route its name.
The burial mounds in the district "Auf dem Bühl in Sangbösch" date from around 200 BC (LaTène period). A Celtic path led from the Hunnenring past the Dankenberg over the Allengraben towards Gölters (the current state border) continuing to the ring complex Elsenfels, above the Nahe near Nohfelden.
The section of the path from the community house towards the cemetery and further on to the fork in the forest is relatively barrier-free (moderate incline, mostly asphalted or firmly gravelled).

There are extension possibilities for the route:
a) via the route "Large Village Round Meckenbach" - for this, do not go downhill towards Meckenbach on the K 1/ Söterner Straße, but go uphill onto the ridge and then turn right towards the wind turbines.
b) via the route "Orchid Path" - for this, do not follow the K 1/ Söterner Straße into the village, but after about one kilometer sharply turn left onto the branching field path.
