Jura Tourisme
This route is located in the heart of the Hautes Combes, the highest plateaus of the Jura massif, once entirely covered by forest.
Past clearings, for subsistence agriculture and now for organic cheese production, have opened large spaces where the flora is extremely rich. In spring, it is the crocuses that start the show, followed by spring gentians, elder orchids, and lady's mantle.

Tips and suggestions
This route crosses pastures with livestock and uses forest trails. To respect the landowners and farmers who allow you to pass, for the peace of the herds and wildlife, you are invited to stay on the marked paths.
Use designated crossings to go through fences and be sure to close gates. Finally, please keep your dog on a leash if you have one.
Wildflowers are beautiful, they can be rare and protected and often fade quickly. Do not pick them! They will delight the next hikers.
In case of forestry work (cutting, extraction…), for your safety, know when to turn back.

The grassy then stony path (yellow markings) goes down to the left, passes the farms of Sur la Joux to reach the Massacre road. Take 50 m of the road to the left then join Route Royale and LAJOUX by the path below the road.
