For this hike, we start from the TransN bus stop “Indiennes” in the municipality of Marin-Epagnier.
We quickly reach the shore of Lake Neuchâtel and then follow its edge to the place called “Sur les Tertres”. Beautiful views, lovely resting spots. Some parts of the shore are quite overgrown with reeds. You have to squeeze through them.
We go around the CNP psychiatric center to return close to the lake from “Préfargier”. We pass through La Tène where a restaurant borders the shore. The terrace is very pleasant!
The crossing of the Thièle canal is done on a footbridge attached to the railway track. We will now follow the watercourse connecting Lakes Neuchâtel and Biel on the right bank. The magnificent Thielle castle is located at the place called “Bethlehem”.
Arriving at the St-Jean bridge, we cross it to head into the old town of Landeron. Magnificently preserved, it is well worth our visit. We stroll somewhat inside it, also enjoying the café terraces before heading to the station just a few hundred meters away.
