Author’s recommendation
When stopping on the terrace of the Château de Malbrouck, you should try the homemade ice cream.
A detour from the Orchid Path to the quarry is worth it.
The hike is not recommended after heavy rain (clay soil).
Derived from the technical difficulty and the stamina requirements.

Roadbook
From the hiking car park, we turn right at the next junction and pass vineyards with views of the Moselle. We follow a small path to Jeckelberg, a district of Apach. Following the yellow bar marker (all circuits in the area have the same marking, namely yellow bar), we continue to Belmach, where we go down to the right to the start of Haut Apach. Sharp left over the brook, we soon cross the D 64 and turn right in the Bois d'Apach off the Circuit de Malbrouck. At the D 64C, you must walk about 100 m to the right along the road and then left again over cultivated fields to Le Pierrier, where we turned right onto a small loop of the Circuit des Collines via Rustroff.
In Rustroff, after the parish church, the path goes uphill past the cemetery to a viewpoint with a bench, and shortly afterward, we reach the junction where we had previously turned off. Over cultivated fields, we return the same way to the Circuit de Malbrouck. Here we keep to the right and later a bit above Manderen turn right into a beautiful valley. The path leads over the brook on the other side of the valley, now with a view of the Château de Malbrouck, back to Manderen. We cross Manderen from south to north and come after a steep ascent to the Château de Malbrouck, where there is an opportunity to stop for refreshments.
On the way back, after passing through Merschweiller, we reach the Chapelle de la Paix, a symbol of German-French friendship. To the left, the path goes downhill to the junction with the Orchid Path, which we follow to the right. A detour to the quarry is worthwhile, also because of the orchids. We follow the beautiful path and soon return to the car park.
