The hiking route begins at the free parking lot, however, if you come by train, you can start at the Štrbske lake. This hiking route is suitable for experienced hikers, who are not afraid of more than 800 meters elevation gain and a lot of rocky and dangerous trails. It is not recommended for families with children younger than 14 years of age. The majority of the route trails are either forest trails or rocky trails with lots of stones, so anyone who wants to try this route should really take care of the suitable hiking shoes and other equipment. On the cloudy days, the winds are extremely strong at the top of the route. The downhill from the ski slopes is a much easier part of the route in comparison to all the uphill rocky trails, but still full eye attention is needed when walking down this trail.  The hiking route ends at the same place, depending on which type of transport you will use.

So, pack your equipment and get ready to experience a real adventure!

Tips and hints

Tip: The largest part of this hiking route is following a yellow touristic trail signs, so if the weather is good and wind is not too strong at the top, you can continue this route on the yellow trail signs until you come back downhill from the other side of the mountain. However, this way, you don't have to reach the skilifts, but rather take a shorter route back to the Štrbske lake. In this case after reaching the highest point of this hiking route, you should continue to reach a small lake "Vyšné Wahlenbergovo pleso", then "Bystrá lávka", then start going downhill through "Capie pleso" and on the way to the finish at the back of Hotel Patria. Warning! - the path downhill following the yellow touristic trail signs is even steeper than going uphill.
