Magically, the Heimbach valley welcomes the hiker on his circular route around Meisenheim. Narrow stream valleys, meadows and forests with impressive views over the Palatinate hills in between. We hike along enchanted forest paths to the Juche´. At the legendary "viewing lodge" we enjoy the view of the historic old town of Meisenheim.
We start our circular route "Magical Heimbach" at the entrance to the outdoor swimming pool area. The path leads into the idyllic Heimbach valley, along the small stream, surrounded by deciduous trees, past a fish pond, gently uphill to Desloch. At the height, we enjoy the open view. It then continues over the crest through the wooded and shaded small valley down to Breitenheim. We pass through the village of Breitenheim, walk a short stretch on the bike path, and reach steeply uphill over meadow and forest paths the "Palatinate ridgeway". With a free view of Meisenheim in the northeast, we hike to the west slope of the Glan valley. Along the naturally wooded slope, we reach the viewpoint "Juche". Over narrow forest paths and steps, we return to the valley. The Glan bridge at the Untertor brings us back to the old town of Meisenheim, and along the railway line, we walk back to our starting point.
