The Männlein-Weg at Wendelstein is an excursion tip for the whole family.
The entertaining, easy hike with just under 200 m of elevation gain is well suited for children. The funny little men show the children the way and lead to the play stations. The circular route leads from Bayrischzell station to the spa park and from there past various attractions such as the observation tower, deadwood trail, adventure playground, and spectacular waterfall.
Author’s recommendation
In summer, the water points and playgrounds along the hike provide especially much fun. The hike is also doable early in the year due to its southern, low location. Note: The Männlein-Weg cannot be accessed with a stroller.

Roadbook
We start at the station in Bayrischzell and walk to the spa park, where the first little man shows us the way. We follow the Larchbach downstream to the natural stone staircase. Then we continue past the Kneipp facility at Bergfeld towards Parapluie. This viewpoint at the forest edge invites to a first small break with observation tower and snack bench. Then we proceed on the deadwood trail through the forest to the Green Pool. Signs along the way explain the forest ecosystem and the significance of deadwood. Afterwards, we hike slightly uphill to the adventure playground at the Green Pool. For this, we cross the stream first over a bridge and reach the waterfall and the pools. A small picnic area here invites you to linger, especially in summer – including plenty of water fun! Then we continue uphill for about 20 minutes to the mountain café Siglhof. Shortly before the managed mountain farm, we cross an alpine meadow and enjoy the panorama of the Wendelstein. The Siglhof also attracts the little guests with its large playground.
Downhill, we follow the little men and women through the forest and pass the spectacular waterfall. For this, we have to climb a few steps, but it is worth it: from the bridge, we look down at the waterfall from an airy height. The water collects here in turquoise pools and flows down several steps. Afterwards, we reach the spa park again via the descent path and walk back to the station.
