The ascent to the Luckerte Wall is very steep in places. The wall can be climbed through a gap, 2 wooden ladders make it easier. On the descent we pass the Gaiskirchl and the Falkenstein Cave. Here are also the internationally popular Adlitzer climbing walls. Up to Prein an der Rax, forest paths and roads alternate.
Author’s recommendation
The resting place is a beautiful viewpoint with a panorama viewer, a trail logbook
and 2 tables with benches. The Gaiskirchl and the Falkenstein Cave are also worth seeing.

Roadbook
To the left of the church hill (country road L135) a narrow road leads slightly uphill, which we follow. After about 300m a steep forest path leading to Haakogel begins on the left. Passing this, the path goes briefly downhill and then gets steeper until the Luckerte Wall is reached. At a fork we go left along the wall to a larger gap. Here we climb in and through the wall. A wooden ladder helps us to exit the cave and a second one to get down to the ground. A short distance further is a cozy resting place. The path continues level on a ridge, then the descent to Falkenstein and to Gaiskirchl begins. Shortly after the little church we come to the Falkenstein Cave, which is accessed by a wooden structure. Along the climbing walls we come to Kalte-Rinne road and follow it left to Orthof. We follow the signpost to the "Speckbacherhütte" for a while and come to a road where we turn left and enter a forest path. Next is another road that circles the "Erholungsheim Oberland." At a left curve we continue straight ahead on a forest path to a farm road. One could now go straight down over the pasture, but it is not advisable because of grazing livestock (bull) on the meadow. So we take the detour via the farm road down to the road in Eselbachgraben. We follow this road to Preinrotte and then left on country road L135 about 1 km to Prein an der Rax, our destination.
