The Saubach circular walk leads through the small village of Saubach and the varied rural landscape above it. The route passes farms, chestnut trees, meadows and short woodland sections, with attractive views across the Eisack Valley and the surrounding mountains.
The walk follows paved roads, field and woodland paths and a section of the Saubacher Koflweg. Some sections are steeper and may become slippery when wet, so sturdy footwear is recommended. The route is suitable for walkers and families with children who are used to hiking.

Roadbook
The circular walk begins at the church in the centre of Saubach. From there, walk to the nearby Saubacherhof inn. Follow the signs for the “Saubacher Rundweg” and climb to the right above the village.
Remain on the signposted circular route. The trail passes through the rural landscape above Saubach and then descends past the Pardiller and Unterfaller farms. You then return to the village of Saubach.
The Saubacher Koflweg begins behind the Saubacherhof. Follow trail no. 28 uphill to the next junction. Leave trail no. 28 here and follow the signs for the “Saubacher Rundweg” again.
The trail continues through woodland and meadows before reaching the road between Barbian and Saubach. Follow the pedestrian path back to the Saubacherhof and the church in Saubach.
Trail conditions:
The route follows paved village and access roads, field and woodland paths and a steeper section of the Koflweg. Sturdy footwear is recommended. Woodland paths, roots and unpaved sections may become slippery when wet. Take particular care of traffic along the road sections, especially when walking with children.

Leave the motorway at Klausen/Chiusa. Follow the state street of Brenner/Brennero (SS12) in direction of Bozen/Bolzano or Waidbruck/Ponte Gardena. After ca. 6 km you arrive Waidbruck/Ponte Gardena and from that point you have to take the slip road in the right direction. Follow the street and after ca. 4 km you will arrive at Barbian/Barbiano. Then you have to follow the street for 3 km and you will arrive at Saubach/S. Ingenuino.
