START: free parking in Piazza degli Alpini, near the Rovolon (PD) cemetery. To reach the beginning of the trail, follow the signs for “Ristorante ai castelli”. Signs can be found on the main road of the village (via San Giorgio), just after Osteria Vecio Veneto.
TRAIL TYPE: well-shaded and well-maintained paths with gravel and compacted earth. The first uphill section, near the ruins of Castello di San Giorgio, can be muddy if tackled during rainy periods. Asphalt is practically absent.
WATER POINTS: a fountain near the Arcipretale Church of San Giorgio Martire in the center of Rovolon and, exclusively for dogs, a small pond to refresh themselves inside the Grotta di Santa Felicita next to the Oratorio di Sant’Antonio Abate. Bipeds can count on provisions offered by the Baita Passo Fiorine halfway along the route.
POINTS OF INTEREST: already from the start, in Rovolon, you can observe a view over the plain north of the Colli Euganei and much of the Colli Berici. The walk then passes by the Oratorio di Sant’Antonio Abate offering views over the plain south of the Colli Berici and subsequently over the heart of the Colli Euganei.
CLIMATE: this route is passable at any time of the year. These are well-shaded paths that therefore promise shelter from the sun and summer heat, but we cannot guarantee against humidity.
