Relatively easy hike in a scenic area. Also suitable for children, some surefootedness required.
Unfortunately, there are quite a few paved roads, which somewhat dampens the hiking enjoyment.

From the Lohnbachfall parking lot on the L78, go back a bit to the right turn (signposted with Lohnbachfall) onto a gravel road.
The Lohnbach breaks through a narrow gorge in a rock barrier. In this waterfall, the water is partially barely visible, but the roaring is omnipresent. During snowmelt and after heavy rains, however, visitors are treated to a spectacular natural spectacle here. You can hike the entire waterfall, which is a natural monument. The trail is partially well secured with stairs, railings, and ropes. In the upper part of the gorge, there is the “Steinerne Stube,” a cave whose entrance is directly on the riverbank.
Unfortunately, this gorge is soon passed through.
We then continue towards Petrobruck - unfortunately mostly on paved roads.
In Petrobruck, near the church, we turn right onto the Höllmühle service road, which we follow for about 1 km. Soon, the sign to the Höllfall footpath appears and we turn left onto this path.
This protected natural monument is formed by the waters of the Große Kamp, which plunge into the gorge in a cataract several hundred meters long. The riverbed is completely blocked by massive rocks; when the river carries little water, the Große Kamp “hides” itself among the stones. From the hiking trail along the waterfall, the Höllfall is not very visible, but you can reach the bank at various points.
A little after the Höllfall, we cross the B124, and from here we again have a paved service road. We follow this through Brunn to the Brunnmühle and turn left into the forest here. Right after crossing the stream, we should have turned left but somehow missed it and made a small detour of about 1 km. Soon we are back on the planned path and reach 2 small (private) swimming lakes, fed by the Lohn.
Now left, and soon we walk along the Lohnbach back to the Lohnbachfall. This time downwards, and after a short time, we reach the parking lot on the L78, where our car is parked.
Right at the junction of the gravel road with the L78, an artist has displayed his figures – called 'Art forces rust,' this permanent exhibition in the field. Quickly a few pictures of it and then heading home.
