This hike also takes us through the green Klausbachtal valley, one of the most popular hiking areas in the national park, but this time we descend. First, however, we climb across the border to the beautifully situated Litzlalm with its popular snack station. We make the way back to the starting point at the border at Hirschbichl easier by taking the Almerlebnisbus. On the way back, we enjoy the varied natural and cultural landscape of the Klausbachtal valley and discover colorful meadows with rare flowers, alpine farms and species-rich forests along the way. The striking rock faces of the Ramsau dolomite tower above us, where, with a bit of luck, we may spot golden eagles or even bearded vultures, which have been released into the wild here since 2021.
We take the Almerlebnisbus to the Hirschbichl bus stop at 1149 m, just over the border in Austria. Here we follow the road for a short distance until, at its highest point, a path leads uphill to the right into the forest. On this forest path, we ascend in many hairpin bends to the snack station on the Litzlalm, 1334 m. We use the forest road for the descent. At the Hufnagel fork, 1257 m, we keep right on the forest road back to Hirschbichl. After crossing the border on the German side, we descend on the asphalt road until we take the hiking trail branching off to the right to the Bindalm, 1117 m. The alp offers us an impressive view of the rocky peaks of the Reiteralm. Continue along the road down to the Klausbach (bus stop for the alpine adventure bus). A beautiful hiking trail with a pleasant gradient leads us further through the forest, past temporary springs that carry water when the snow melts or after rainfall. We reach the Engert-Holzstube (Almerlebnisbus stop), 953 m above sea
