With its broad, strongly structured north face, visible from Haldensee through the Strindental, the Litnisschrofen is one of the beautiful and distinctive mountains south of the Tannheimer Valley. The normal route to the summit leads along the significantly more harmless south side. At the rocky summit, we encounter short and somewhat exposed scrambling sections, which are well secured with wire ropes and chains.
From the valley station of the Krinnenalp lift at Nesselwängle, we first follow the narrow asphalt road west past a roundabout. About 100 m after the roundabout (directly after a small hut) we turn left and take the wide path uphill towards the south. After a short ascent, we take the path to the right and thus reach the wide forest road leading to Krinnenalpe. We follow the forest road uphill through the mountain forest. We ignore the fork turning right downhill to Haldensee. Here we can shorten the next left curve of the forest road via a trail. Even in the following ascent, we can repeatedly shorten the forest road on a well-marked trail and thus reach Krinnenalpe, 1527 m. From the alpine pasture, we continue on the wide path uphill towards the west. On the very scenic route (Alpenrosensteig), it goes gently uphill to a terrain shoulder and from there briefly downhill to the managed Nesselwängler Edenalpe, 1672 m. We leave the alpine pasture to the right and continue straight ahead
