First, you walk for 3 km through the Lissos Gorge. A beautiful, green gorge with easy hiking trails. Particularly impressive is the part where the gorge walls tower 50-100 m on both sides, with the right wall (in the walking direction) clearly overhanging. The photo motif of the gorge… After 1.9 km, you have to decide whether to add a detour to ancient Lissos. From the junction, it then continues another 1 km through the gorge. At km 3, you exit the gorge and the environment changes radically. The lush vegetation of the gorge gives way to a typical Mediterranean macchia landscape, which accompanies us over the high plateau and on the descent. There are repeatedly great views of the Libyan Sea. Shortly before the end of the route, you can visit the Ag. Irini chapel. It dates from the 13th century. Orientation: very well marked on the E4 section. The rest of the path has red dots and arrows in (generally) sufficient density, except for one section on the descent on the high plateau. GPS / map can be helpful there. Otherwise, the path is always well identifiable. Path types: 80% narrower trails, rest gravel road, 500 m street. Dining options: the entire beach street of Soughia offers taverns. Recommended are, among others, Lyvikon and Kiyia.
Author’s recommendation
I recommend doing the route clockwise. The ascent is then through the shaded gorge. The descent is then in the sunny section of the circuit.

No objective danger points. One section (20 m) is somewhat exposed. Two blocks (1-1.5 m high) in the gorge require you to use your hands once on the rock (not exposed). That is the entire “scrambling” described in guides.Tips and suggestions
The route can be extended with a detour to ancient Lissos (Roman city). This extends the route by 3.2 km and 100 more meters of elevation. See photos…Roadbook
From the parking lot, head east to the harbor. There you will see signs to ancient Lissos. This marks the beginning of the Lissos Gorge.
Up to km 1.9, follow the E4 through the gorge (black and yellow markings), then keep right and continue through the gorge (red dot / arrow). At km 3.0, follow the signs to “Soughia” to exit the gorge. You then continue to ascend until you reach a high plateau, where the highest point is reached. This then gradually descends towards Soughia. Follow the red dot. Just before the end of the plateau, navigation is a bit tricky. Then the path becomes a wider gravel road on which you can easily reach the starting point.
