This hike differs from the others in the Albanian Alps - the character of the mountain range is already shaped by the geology of the Montenegrin mountains.

We are moving at the end of the Vermoshi valley in the extreme northern tip of Albania and are surrounded on three sides by Montenegrin territory. This also shapes the character of the Liqenet mountain range: rock and vegetation correspond to those of the "Black Mountains," no longer the "white" Albanian Alps.

Park at the start of the elongated village Vermoshi near one of the two bridges. Cross the Vermoshi stream and follow path no. 10a on the other side above the houses. The path leads through densely vegetated terrain with partly wet ground steadily uphill in a northwesterly direction. At about 1,500 m elevation, the path reaches the mountain ridge and turns east - it now goes over open rocky terrain, and we pass the highest point of the route just under 2,000 m. The path diverts down briefly to the north below a small pass (about 1,900 m) (according to the map there is also a trail over the ridge) and then climbs again to the pass Qafa e Liqeive (about 1,950 m). From here, it descends southwards on path no. 10b back to Vermoshi.
