In Lindewerra, a visit to the stick maker museum and also the Werra Bridge is recommended,
where a display panel recalls the senselessness of the German division.

Starting from the stick maker village Lindewerra, you walk comfortably in the shade along the Werra towards Werleshausen.
In Werleshausen you walk up to the romantic castle, then turn right onto the signposted hiking trail with a slight climb. Above Werleshausen, you enjoy a wonderful view over the town towards Hesse with the Werra river and Ludwigsstein Castle. In the forest, it then becomes steeper, here hiking poles prove useful. Once you reach the ridge peak, you follow the convoy path in a north-northwest direction to the idyllic Hanstein Castle. The castle served as a filming location for the movie The Physician: definitely visit, interesting interiors and beautiful views! (www.burgruine-hanstein.de)
From Hanstein Castle, a slight ascent to Junkerspitze and from there to the Devil’s Pulpit with a view of Lindewerra and the Werra curve. At the Devil’s Pulpit, you can enjoy a fresh Thuringian "Köstritzer" dark beer with a hearty snack in the inn, which has been operating since 1882. (www.teufelskanzel.de)
The direct descent to Lindewerra is again relatively steep – hiking poles are recommended here again.
