Lighthouse-Forest-Route

This hiking route starts at the Dahme sports field and initially runs through quiet woodland and open fields, which have their own charm at any time of year. After a short time, you reach the striking Dahmeshöved lighthouse, which is an unmistakable landmark of the region. The listed brick tower, which has been in existence since 1878/79, rises on a small hill and, at 33.7 meters above sea level, offers a wonderful view over the Bay of Lübeck and the surrounding countryside. Throughout history, the lighthouse has played an important role as a landmark for shipping and as a "light of freedom" during the division of Germany. Today, it can be visited at times - even a wedding at lofty heights is possible.

If you are not afraid to climb the 108 steps to the viewing platform, you will be rewarded with a magnificent view of the Baltic Sea coast. The way back leads along the natural cliffs with a wide panorama and through shady forest areas, which are pleasantly cool in summer. Along the way, there are always sweeping views of the sea, rest stops and peace and quiet to enjoy. Refreshments and refreshments are available in nearby Dahme - small cafés and restaurants invite you to linger.
