⚠️ This hike was changed on 04.06.2022 because agricultural and local construction measures have slightly altered the route and not everyone was able to handle the partly unmarked paths. Due to this route change, all paths are now marked with hiking signs and should be doable without problems... use a GPS device if in doubt ⚠️Roadbook
From the B14 parking lot in Weigendorf, follow the map upwards to the forest edge. After a short time, a small path appears on the left that leads us to the path junction with the hiking trail sign, to the actual hiking trail, which has been changed for some time due to construction work. We follow the forest trail [ 2 ] up above Haunritz and visit the viewpoint rock "Alter Fritz". Afterwards, we go back about 110 meters to our original hiking trail, which we follow to Hellberg (the hiking trail [ 2 ] goes through Hellberg, do not be confused by a private property sign to the left at the village entrance, if still present). From Hellberg, pass the sports ground, cross the municipal road, and follow the well-marked hiking trail according to the map, which shortly leads us through the forest (Red Dot) down to the high trail to Högen (Yellow Circle). Then continue through Högen (with a place to eat, Alter-Schloß-Wirt) up to the church and follow the well-marked hiking trail (Plauer Dot) according to the map up to the Lichtenegg castle ruins, where you have a magnificent panoramic view. Afterwards, continue along the high trail to Guntersrieth and follow the farm road down to the right past a spring to the Fallmühle and onward to Weigendorf.
