Anyone who wants to explore the special location of Vienna on the edge of the Vienna Woods and the Vienna Basin on foot will be enthusiastic about this circular hike. On clear days, the view extends over the sea of houses of the million-city and the Danube to the Little Carpathians.
From the bus stop, it goes under Heiligenstädter Straße (B14) into Kahlenbergerdorf with its closely packed houses. The landmark of the village is the St. George Church, from which pilgrims set off twice a month to the image of grace Maria Hilf on Leopoldsberg. At the house Heiligenstädter Straße 357 begins the "Nasenweg," the steep, winding ascent over the nose of Leopoldsberg. The Nasenweg ends below the recently renovated church and castle. From the castle gate, one descends on an asphalted road to the small Leopoldsberg parking lot on the Wiener Höhenstraße (bus stop of line 38 A Grinzing–Kahlenberg–Leopoldsberg). Together with the Höhenstraße, an asphalt footpath with red-green markings gently slopes down to the saddle between Leopolds- and Kahlenberg. There we find the Kahlenberg adventure world with forest rope park and 3D archery park, the Josefinenhütte, the Hütte am Weg, and the Elisabethwiese.
