Cozy hike with relaxing stop and delicacies from our own production.
We start our hike from the hiking parking lot (toll required) in the Leckner Valley and first walk comfortably downhill along the road, past the beautifully located Leckner Lake, to the „Höflealpe“. Here is also the chapel „Mariä Heimsuchung“, which was completed in 1936. Via the „Neuschwandalpe“ we continue on the gravel road to the „Helmingenalpe“, which is already back on German territory. Here we enjoy our stop and the tasting of self-produced products such as mountain cheese, milk, butter, and cider.
From there, the path turns back towards Austria and leads us up to the „Äuelealpe“ (1240 m), the highest point of our hike. After this alpine pasture, we have to overcome a somewhat swampy terrain before descending again on a gravel road from the „Koppachalpen“ back to the starting point at the hiking parking lot.
