Since the Middle Ages, hermits have withdrawn to the solitude of the Lecceto forest and established hermitages there. The hike begins at the Eremo di Lecceto, with the Chiesa di San Leonardo being another church directly on the path. No great views are to be expected, but the circular route runs on beautiful natural paths.
From the Eremo di Lecceto we go back the 150 m long access road and then follow the road to the right towards La Locaia. After another 150 m, at a junction, we encounter a path marked with No. 118 (hard to see). We turn right onto this and start the circular hike through the Lecceto forest. After 50 m the gravel road turns left, we continue straight on a brown dirt path that runs around the monastery area through open forest.At a shallow cistern, shortly before a fork, we keep left (red-white trail sign). A path takes us in 4 minutes to the crosswise trail No. 117, which we follow to the left and then leave again at the fork 75 m later to the right onto a narrow path. This runs somewhat overgrown through dense bush forest of holm oaks, junipers, and strawberry trees.After a crossing and a path branching off to the left, a fenced area is reached, we walk along the fence to the left.
