This very scenic route starts at the Edmund-Probst-Haus (1927 m), which we reach by the Nebelhorn cable car. From there, the route heads towards Schochen, where we are repeatedly rewarded with magnificent views of the surrounding mountain landscape. East of us is the Laufbacher Eck. A narrow, very steep path leads us from the summit down to the Schönberghütte and further into the Bärgünde valley. Eventually, we reach our destination, the Giebelhaus. From there, a bus takes us back to the starting point.

We start this route at the Edmund-Probst-Haus (DAV), which we reach by the Nebelhorn cable car. It is located at an altitude of 1927 m, immediately next to the Höfatsblick station, and offers a magnificent view into the valley and of the surrounding peaks. From there, we head south and hike with gentle ups and downs through alpine terrain past the Kleiner and Großer Seekopf. Below the 2100 m high Schochen, our route finally curves to the left. Now we have a wonderful view of the probably best-known grass mountain of the Allgäu Alps, the 2259 m high Höfats with its steep grassy slopes and into the Oytal valley. The route continues along the Laufbacher Eck path at the foot of the Lachenkopf eastward to the 2178 m high Laufbacher Eck. Here we are rewarded with a splendid view of the highest mountain in the Bad Hindelang area, the 2593 m high Hochvogel. After a break, we descend and pass east of the 2268 m high Schnecks the Zwerchwand. From there, a narrow trail leads steeply down over sparse meadow terrain to the Schönberghütte. This hut is located at 1688 m and is not managed. On the Via Alpina, we then hike a short distance further and then turn left. Subsequently, we follow the Stierbach downstream with the 2240 m high Großer Wilden behind us. At an elevation of 1319 m, we finally reach the unmanaged Point-Hütte. From there, a wide forest road leads us northwards through the Bärgünde valley, always alongside the rushing Bärgündelebach. After a while, we reach our destination, the Giebelhaus in the Ostrach valley. From there, a bus takes us via Hinterstein back to our starting point.
