A route through varied terrain, from alpine meadows to rock blocks with magnificent views of the Gross Venediger and the ascent of the Lasörling.
The mountain ranges mentioned in the introduction form the backdrop for our route. We start at the agreed time and place in the still relatively quiet farming village of Hinterbichl.
We first head west and then proceed south into the Lasörling group. Once at the first hut, we stay more or less at altitude, crossing the mountains from west to east. We cross cols, climb summits, and enjoy the magnificent views of the Venediger group. Along the way, we pass mountain streams and small lakes, and the possibility that we may have to cross snowfields is (in this season) not unlikely. The route is on well-trodden paths, but here and there scrambling is required. Where passages are tricky, steel wires have been installed. "Surefootedness" is therefore necessary.
Note: This route has been listed in the past by the NKBV. Due to possible changing conditions, you are always responsible for checking the current route conditions yourself. Get information from the local tourist office or the experts of the respective region so you can go out safely and prepared.

Public transport
Public-transport-friendly
Osttirol is difficult to reach by public transport. By train, you travel via Munich to Mittersill. Then take the bus through the Felber-Tauerntunnel towards Matrei in Osttirol. Here, switch to the bus to Prägraten or Hinterbichl.
An alternative is to travel via Lienz; although this is a detour, there are more frequent buses to Virgen, where you can change again.
