In the Malgrüblerkamm between Voldertal and Wattental, the Largoz, colloquially also called Glotzen, extends furthest to the north: a fine viewing platform above the Lower Inn Valley that can be easily hiked from the Krepperhütte at Großvolderberg. One should choose a clear day if possible, so the panorama can fully unfold.
The start of the trail above the Krepperhütte is unfortunately not very clear. The sign at the parking lot initially points to the forest road leading to the left, from which an unmarked trail branches off (there are actually several path tracks through the woods here). Soon the path becomes more distinct and crosses forest roads several times uphill, with connections always existing. One enters open alpine meadows and reaches the sizable Largozalm at around 1920 m. With clear tracks but no signposts, the route winds further uphill between the last stone pines and finally turns right to the summit cross at the Largoz, 2214 m. This stands slightly north of the actual highest point; a rest bench is also available. The descent is via the same route, later possibly also via the forest road.

Mark Zahel
