Large loop around the forest

From the parking lot at the upper entrance of the forest cemetery, follow the Maintal hiking trail (Blue M) gently uphill to the right and walk above the village on a beautiful flat forest path to the Neurod trail marker. Just before the first house, turn sharply left onto the Franconian Red Wine Hiking Trail and the E1, about 800 m always slightly uphill to the Sohlödenwiesen trail marker. Here at the forest edge, with a nice view to the right of Mechenhard and to the left of Schippach, follow the Franconian Red Wine Hiking Trail symbol to the left. In the valley, the path turns about 200 m to the left, crosses the Wittersbach, and after about 500 m, gently rising, meets the forest edge again. You now walk about 1 km along the forest edge and adjoining meadows following the Franconian Red Wine Hiking Trail. You bypass Armbergskopf on the left side, encounter the forest nature trail (black owl), and on this trail, going up to the left, reach the Armbergskopf trail marker. Turn right and walk about 1.5 km always along the gently descending mountainside of Nordic Walking Route 2 down to the Schulzentrum trail marker. Return is via the forest nature trail (black owl) and the Maintal hiking trail (Blue M) back to the starting point at the forest cemetery.
