From the old sports field, we go downhill and then left into the street at Rotlöffel. Past a former glove factory. In the following sharp right turn, we turn left into a meadow valley (Langscheidtal). At the end of the meadows, we cross a bridge and then follow the stream uphill through beech and spruce high forest.
At the next crossroad, we keep sharply left uphill, then again a right-left combination up to the meadows in front of Kadenbach. Here we cross the Limes. Opposite on the left, there was a Roman watchtower about 2000 years ago. This crossroads is popularly called "Groß Tor" (Great Gate). It is suspected to be a historic border crossing between Romans and Germans. We continue towards the meadows and follow the path downhill. From here, we have a nice view over the Augstdörfer Kadenbach, Eitelborn, and Neuhäusel. Slightly to the right of the path, a detour of a few minutes to a chapel is worthwhile. Back on our path, we come across an asphalt farm road which we follow to the left. Along this path, we pass the Kadenbach barbecue hut. Then we turn left uphill onto a field path. On the left in the meadows ran the Limes, which we follow for a short distance. At an information board, the Limes leaves us to the right. We continue straight downhill towards Arzbach and back to the starting point at the old sports field. Before, we have a nice view over Arzbach to the Großer Kopf with the Roman tower.
