The best way to do this short hike is clockwise. It is a circular route that we want to start at the village square "Fusse Koch", directly next to the village lime tree, heading towards the town exit. After about 70 meters downhill, we turn right opposite the tennis courts. This path initially leads slightly uphill and later passes through a so-called oak low forest. Repeatedly, there are views framed by trees of the neighboring community of Langenfeld with the "Eifeldom", an impressive church for our rather small parish. This path ends at a paved farm road, which we turn right onto for about 30 meters. Passing a bench under a beautiful oak tree, next to it the "Ränseifekreuz". From here, it goes slightly uphill for a short stretch. The effort is rewarded with a very nice view up to the Engelner Kopf. This wide view accompanies us for a short distance until the next resting bench. From there, there is a truly exceptional view to the right of the juniper heath of our Wabelsberg. Here, we probably also meet some hikers from the popular Wacholder-Traumpfad. At this point, however, we take the meadow path downhill, cross the paved road, and continue a little further downhill back into the forest. Then sharp right back into the open terrain with a view over Hausten-Morswiesen to the Weibern tuff stone quarries. At the next junction, slight uphill to the right, we pass below the Wabelsberger Wacholderhütte and shortly afterwards go downhill back towards the town center, where we meet the village lime tree again.
