Lamsbach valley and forest stage from Schwarzenacker
From the Snake Cave through idyllic stream valleys, past mountain farms, Emilienruhe and the forest stage to the Indian Rocks.
The route leads right at the beginning to one of the exits of the Snake Cave. The narrow Pfändertal and the beautiful Lamsbach valley contrast with the scenic mountain farms, the forest stage, and the little-known Indian Rock.
Author’s recommendation
A visit to the nearby Schlossberg caves with the Hohenburg is worthwhile. However, you should allow enough time. The same applies to the Roman museum Einöd at the beginning of the hike.
Derived from the technical difficulty and the stamina requirements.

Roadbook
From the ski and hiking hut, we go along the slope of the Pfändertal past the Snake Cave up to the mountain farms (Bliesgau-Regal Bliesgau Oil and Mustard Mill Berghof). First down into the Lamsbach valley, we pass the forest inn Emilienruhe. After a contemplative stretch through the Lamsbach valley (upstream, green bar), we turn north, cross the Lamsbach and go unmarked past the Roßberg to the forest stage.
The following round to the north can be combined with a detour to the Hohenburg with the Schlossberg caves. We circle around the University Hospital Homburg and come to the Indian Rocks. After a section on the Saar-Pfalz path, we are back at Emilienruhe.
On the way back, we go along the valley floor of the Pfänderbach valley back to the parking lot.
