For those interested in geology: We are moving through the Tavetsch intermediate massif. Not far to the south runs the Urseren-Garvera zone, a trapped remnant of sediment packages that have been shifted northwards and formed the natural phenomenon of the main Glarus thrust.
We take the PostBus from Disentis to Perdomat. From there, the path first leads south, then southwest, to the small village of Cavardiras. Along the forest road, it goes through shady woods to Aclas da Cavardiras and the alpine farms of Caischavedra. After crossing the two ravines Dargun da Pardomat and Dargun da Falens, you soon reach the idyllic Lag da Laus. Like a pearl, this lovely lake lies nestled in meadows and woods and invites you to linger. A large wool blanket, swimwear, and a towel, as well as enough provisions, should definitely be brought for an extensive stay. Here you can switch off, forget everyday worries, and absorb the silence following the motto: “Listen as if you hear nothing” (Karl Valentin). The descent leads past the northern shore eastwards, then northwards down to the hamlet of Laus. The final section from Laus runs on a driveable road to Falens and back to Pardomat Dadens.
